  • About

Jon is a keen observer of the strengths and weaknesses of those around him and works to draw the best out of each person. He is also a student of the patterns in life and quickly dissects them into individual explainable or controllable variables. He is constantly working toward productive change to capture efficiencies or opportunities that would normally pass by. He is a life-long learner and is energized by applying that knowledge in the service of others.

Jon was born and raised in Northeast Ohio and grew up playing any sport with a ball. As a former athlete, he identifies as a coach in a business context and is energized by watching a team rally to achieve a goal. He's also skeptical, independent and has high standards of competence and performance (for himself and others).

Jon and his wife, Kim moved to Los Angeles in 2014 to expand ipsoCreative's presence to include a West Coast regional presence and establish an office in Pasadena, CA.

  • Q&A with Jon

What's the best part of your story so far?

The best part of my story so far is my marriage to my beautiful wife, Kim. We've adventured through our first 6 years of marriage thus far, and we are discovering the future together every day. We are looking forward to bring a new human into the world sometime around the first week of May!

What organization or company inspires you and why?

CVCA Soccer inspires me to live a good story. I have been the rare recipient of an extreme amount of intentional investment from mentors and coaches who have sacrificed much to create an experience that is lasting and meaningful. It taught me the importance of commitment and the value of community. I'm fortunate enough to have noticed and continue to appreciate that sacrifice, and I strive to pay it forward every day.

The best stories I've seen lived out involve the sacrificial investment of time, energy, and love - our most precious resources - into another human being.

What is something no one would ever believe to be true about you?

I sang in a choir that toured the midwest one summer - lip-synching most of the words most of the time.

What are you passionate about related to the work you do in serving others?

I get a thrill out of the very end of a project, when we cut over to the new website or release the final video. I am especially thrilled to watch the client-side project manager proudly reveal the new project to the internal stakeholders. When they win, we win! I work hard every day to deliver an experience that I'd want to receive - initial direction/strategy through final product.

What are you doing when you feel most like you?

Embarking on an adventure where I have to rely on my own preparations, the people around me, and a favorable weather forecast.

In an alternative life, what would you want to give a try?

I'd like to be a software engineer. The ability to create with your mind as well as your hands in the technology space is a modern day craft.
