As The Inspirer, Josh is warmly enthusiastic and imaginative, and sees life as full of possibilities. A natural people-person, Josh strives to help others achieve their dreams by sharing his own excitement for risk-taking and adventure. His flexible, supportive attitude enables him to draw connections between distinct events and information, and he proceeds based on patterns he quickly identifies. Josh’s passion to dream, develop and create shape his approach to both his life and his work: he strives for perfection, but is adaptable to changing circumstances.
Having lived in northeast Ohio all his life, Josh often dreams of the adventures that Denver and New Zealand have to offer. Nonetheless, Josh will be the first to express his love and loyalty for his motherland, especially now that it serves as home base and playground for his three active children. Josh’s free time is usually spent playing and exploring the outdoors with them, whether it be on the water or the slopes. Josh’s dedication to his family is telling of his humility and selflessness; in general, Josh feels most himself when giving his time, talents, and love to those around him.
From an early age, Josh loved to take things apart to learn how to put them back together. It was this fascination and close attention to detail that originally drew him to design, which he sees not as artistic, but as mathematical and communicative: “To me, design is about helping people see things differently, and moving them from point A to point B.” Josh graduated from Kent State University’s Visual Communication Design program in 2000, and has been immersed in the field ever since. As a do-er, Josh's dream has always been to launch his own agency, so with ipso off and running (and by a passionate and humble team), Josh's dream is being realized. “Now, it’s just a matter of what we do with it.”

Josh is an expert in custom web design with many years of experience in eCommerce, product catalogue, and lead generating websites. He was also an early adopter of Responsive Design principles and as such has designed an extraordinarily high volume of Responsive websites.
ipsoCreative's Creative Director, Josh brings an ability to communicate and a positivity that is rare among Creative Directors in general. He's even tempered, not moody. He's collaborative, not protective. He's uplifting, not unproductively critical. In short, he's a roll up his sleeves, lead by example, heart of a teacher type Creative Director.
Q&A with Joshua
What's the best part of your story so far?
The best part of my story is that it isn't my story. I am a small part in an eternal story that is far bigger than me. I love the people that are moving along side of me and look forward to meeting the people that will continue to be added to the journey.
What organization or company inspires you and why?
Patagonia: This organization bleeds community and understands the value of its people. Yvon built this company and others on his own trades, and encourages his family and employees to find their trade. Everything about Patagonia strives towards excellence and not to give in to consumerism. It's ironic given that they provide products.
What is something no one would ever believe to be true about you?
That I have known my wife and her family since the 2nd grade. Our parents are great friends and spend the whole summer together. I have been with my wife for over 28 years and married for 20 of those years. She is truly my best friend among other things.
What are you passionate about related to the work you do in serving others?
I am passionate about creating stories for a reason. I have been given the opportunity to visually communicate a clients story via many different mediums. This is a great responsibility that I don't take lightly and always look forward to.
What are you doing when you feel most like you?
Creating with my family. It can be as simple as drawing on our driveway with chalk or hiking in the mountains. From creating visuals or creating memories is when I am ME.
In an alternative life, what would you want to give a try?
I have always dreamed of being a groomer at a Colorado ski resort.
What does flourishing mean to you?
Taking something that's non-existent and helping it exist.
What aspect of ipso's culture resonates with you the most?
The responsibility of every employee, from partners to interns: everyone here wears a lot of hats, everyone has a lot of say. There's no trickle-down effect.
